THE WORLD IS MINE OYSTER
My paintings are deeply connected to my childhood in the Deep South - experiences in the natural world around me - summers on Jekyll, Sapelo, and Sea Island, trips to Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, oystering in the Calibogue Sound.
Sandra lives and paints in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and paints in her sun-filled loft studio overlooking a lush lagoon.

I made hundreds of little shell drawings and delighted in every single one. Gathering, cleaning and saving them saving them in glass jars and baskets, then arranging and drawing them like they were little friends.
Storytelling is deeply ingrained in the Southern culture and telling my stories through painting is as natural to me as sunrise and sunset.
HER STORY
Earning a BFA in Painting from the University of Georgia, and a Master’s Degree in Education from SUNY Buffalo in Curriculum Development, Sandra enhanced her art training at Ritins School Toronto, Canada, in Advanced Studio Instruction in European painting techniques with antique glazing/Old World Washes/ Frescoes & Trompe l’oeil. Further years of studying at the Isabell O’Neil Decorative Arts School in NYC were further instrumental in her artistic growth and developing a personal and unique style and approach to her painting subjects.
Parlaying her formal education to becoming a Residential Interior Designer for a seasoned period of years gave Sandra the opportunity to create personalized commissioned paintings, murals, and hand-painted furnishings for her clients.
Her professional experience as owner of her own interior design firm in New York, Managing Director of design firms in Palm Beach, Fl, Marathon, Florida Keys, and in-house designer for luxury home builders, in New York, Colorado, and Delray Beach, Fl., has given Sandra the good fortune to be creative in a myriad of locations throughout the country and live an “artful life”.
Hanging up her former Interior Design career in the past few years after moving to Ponte Vedra, Florida, from Savannah, Georgia, Sandra is now painting exclusively and is gloriously inspired working in her sun-filled loft studio overlooking a lush lagoon.
